Javier Cifuentes-Faura holds a PhD from the University of Murcia, awarded with distinction (Cum Laude) and an international honour. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Management from the UMU, receiving the Extraordinary Undergraduate Award. He was awarded the ‘Economics and Business 2018’ prize by the Official Association of Economists of the Region of Murcia. He has completed a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and a Master’s in Sales and Marketing Management, taught by the European Business School of Barcelona and accredited by the Isabel I of Castile International University (both awarded Cum Laude); as well as a Master’s in Teacher Training. He is also the Visiting Scholar at Alba Iulia University.

His main areas of research include public economics, the green economy, sustainable business, the education system and the Sustainable Development Goals. He has conducted research resulting in over 150 articles in high-impact journals, the majority of which are in the first quartile. As a result of his research, Stanford University included him in its ranking of the world’s most influential researchers (World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking). He has received the ASEPUMA Annals 2022 International Research Award. He has also served on the scientific committee and as an organiser for several international conferences, as well as being a guest speaker at various conferences.
